All of you have ever heard – There is some treasure in the world. And if you ask to tell you please, It’s not a secret, your home is. Pupil 2 Your family is a golden heart. Your family is your soul’s guard. Your family is gladness’s ring. Your family is a pure thing. Pupil 1 Mother, father, sister, brother, Granny, aunt, granddad and others Love us, help in any time. Family is in the prime. Pupil 2 We came here to have a fun, Watch and listen, jump and run. We are happy, gay and smart. Let family holiday start! Compere. Hello everybody! Greet our eight participants. Each of them likes his family, but they want to be the best. Parents and friends support them. There will be a competition between participants. Our jury will put marks for some tasks. At the end of the competition we shall know the winner. So let’s start. Each family has got its own symbol. Sometimes members of the family don’t think about any symbols. But there is a thing in each house that unites all relatives and improves everybody’s mood. Let our participants represent symbols of their families. (participants show their symbols or pictures of them) Ann. The symbol of our family is an old vase. We put flowers in it on holidays. Kate. The symbol of our family is a toy-dog. It is very old. My great-grandmother made it. Andriy. And our family has a large photo album. There are a lot of pictures of our relatives in it. We keep it in order. Serhiy. The symbol of our family is a cherry-tree. Look at the picture. There are a lot of cherries in the tree in summer and they are very tasty. Bohdan. Our family has got a nice book. It’s a Bible. We don’t remember who left the book to us. But we keep it in safe Yulia: The symbol of our family is pictures. My granddad was an artist. He left many pictures and we are proud of them and granddad. Natasha. The symbol of our family is our house. You can see a picture of it. Many generations lived in the house. It is old but we look after it. Anton. The symbol of our family is our big round table. This is a picture of it. We gather round the table on different occasions. Compere. Thank you very much. All symbols are very nice and interesting. Pupil 1. You have got a lot of toys: Pistols, trumpets, drums and dolls. Pupil 2. In the mornings and at noons Play with balls and the balloons. Compere. Your task is to blow five balloons and with the help of your relatives tie them to the stick. The winner is the participant who will tie balloons the first. (jury announce the winner) Now let’s watch a little scene. Two girls and a boy in the room. Girls are doing make-up. The boy is waiting for them. Boy. Ann, Kate, are you soon? I’m waiting for you. We may be late for a birthday party. Girl 1. Let me paint my lips. Girl 2. Let me paint my eyelashes. Boy. (is looking at watch) It’s high time! Let’s go! Girls show their faces. Their make up is awful. The boy is scared. You look like witches. Girl 1. You cannot say so. Our mother uses the cosmetic, but she is beautiful. We took her things. So we are also beautiful. Girl 2. Don’t listen to him! Let’s go! Boy. I won’t go with you! It’s shame! Wash your faces! Girl 1. We’re nice! You don’t understand. Girl 2. You don’t say to our mother to wash. We are not worse. Boy. (girls have washed their faces) Girls. We are ready. Boy. Let’s go. Don’t forget, time flies. Compere. It’s a very funny story, isn’t it? Girls so often want to be ladies. They would like to have a make up and wear mother’s clothes. The following task for our participants is to do make up. During five minutes boys and girls have to do make up to their models with the help of cosmetic. Models are your mothers, sisters or aunts. (jury announce the winner) Pupil 1. Family ties are very strong. Family roads are very long. Pupil 2. Family help is an eternal thing. Friendship in families is a golden ring. Compere. Our participants prepared presentations of their relatives. Let’ s listen to their presentations about any of their relative. Ann. I’d like to tell about my father. His name is Anatoliy. He is 35. He is my friend. I love him very much. If I want to play a ball, Mother, granny, aunt and others Say I have to play with dolls, Leave a ball, but dear father Often takes me to the gym, Go fishing we together, I’m so glad to be with him Any time and any weather! Kate. Meet my sister! Her name is Anzhelina. She is seven. She is my real friend and I love her very much. My sister is a little girl. She looks like an expensive pearl. She’s so nice and so pretty, But sometimes naughty. It’s a pity. We often go for a walk, We always have sincere talk. On holidays we have a rest. My dear sister is the best! Andriy. I’d like to represent my granny. Her name is Sophia. She is 57. My granny bakes delicious pies And does a very tasty jam. She is not old but very nice. She is Sophia. It’s her name. My granny often visits us. She lives from me not far away. On Sunday I go by bus And to the granny take my way. Serhiy. I’d like to meet you with my mum. Her name is Alina. She is 34. Mother is kind. Mother is merry She is, to my mind Like a wonderful berry. She likes to be strict And also polite. In our family My mother is light. Bohdan. I want to represent my elder brother. He is 15. He is a pupil of the ninth form. His name is Sasha. We live with brother hand in hand, We listen to music and play in the band. We help our parents about the house, In our village we graze our cows. My brother is nice and  an excellent sportsman. His hobby is studying languages foreign. Every day he goes to the gym. Frankly speaking I want to be like him. Yulia. I’d like to represent my aunt. Her name is Olena. She is my mother’s sister. Days have gone and on weekends We are waiting dear guests. Aunt Olena comes to us. She is good and very nice. She helps me to draw a picture. By the way she is a teacher. With her help I study well So my parents often tell. Natasha. I’d like to tell about my granddad. He is 58. His name is Victor. My granddad is not old at all. He is handsome, slim and tall. At the factory he’s working. Granddad goes in for boxing. I put on his gloves sometimes. Everybody at me laughs. He gives pieces of advice. Granddad is the head for us. Anton. I’d like to tell about my uncle. He is only 22. He is my mother’s brother. Now my uncle is a student, He is getting a profession, He is clever and he wouldn’t Like to get bad marks at session. So uncle reads a lot, Studies, writes and learns by heart. A lot of knowledge has he got, So uncle is very smart. Compere. We listened to wonderful stories about our participant’s relatives and now our participants are going to be asked three questions about their relatives. Jury will listen to your answers and put you marks. (members of the jury have got the correct answers) Ann, we have just heard about your father. But it’s known you’ve got a sister. So, tell us please. 1)    Where was your sister born? 2)    What is her favourite meal? 3)    What subject does she dislike? Kate told about her sister Anzhelina, but we are interested in her granny, who lives with them. 1)    What is the name of your granny’s father? 2)    How old is your granny? 3)    What is her favourite movie? Andriy told about his granny. He would like to be asked Kate’s questions, I think. But tell us about your mother. 1)    When was your mother born? 2)    What is her favourite colour? 3)    What had her surname been before she got married? Serhiy knows everything about his mum. But if he knows anything about his dad, we’ll see! 1)    What village or town did your father go to school? 2)    What is your dad’s telephone number? 3)    What is your favourite kind of sport? Bohdan will be asked about his mother. 1)    What is the name of your mother’s father? 2)    What village or town did your mother go to school? 3)    What is her favourite movie? We have already heard about Yulia’s aunt. And now let’s get known about her sister. 1)    What month was your sister born in? 2)    What’s your sister favourite sport? 3)    What’s your sister favourite actor? Natasha is going to be asked questions about her father. 1)    How old is your father? 2)    How many brothers or sisters does your father have? 3)    What is you father’s favourite kind of sport? Anton, we are interested in your knowledge about your uncle, your mother’s brother. 1)    What town does your uncle live in? 2)    What street does he live in? 3)    How many children has he got? (Jury announce scores)  Pupil 1. Remember dear boys and girls – According to a lot of legends – All children like to play with toys, All parents like to get some presents. Pupil 2. You can make with your own hands Or buy a ready-made in markets, You can prepare beforehand And put into funny baskets. Pupil 1. But don’t forget, you present should Be given with tremendous pleasure. Be always in a merry mood And then the present will be treasure. Compere. (to participants)You are given some sheets of paper. You have five minutes to make a present for your relatives out of this paper. (to audience) While presents are being made, let’s watch a scene.                     Scene A fairy is in her house Fairy. It’s so wonderful to be a fairy! Most of all I like to make wishes come true. My house is small, but it is very famous among people and animals. They have a lot of wishes. Sometimes I have a terrible headache because of them. But I don’t confess. Otherwise they will think I am a bad fairy. Oh! I hear noise! Hare. Hello, fairy! Can you help me? Fairy. Of course. What’s the matter? Hare. I’m too hungry. Yesterday I had got a lucky chance to see a big field of excellent carrots. But it turned out there was a guard in the field. So I had to hide. Can I have any carrots? Fairy. (gives him some carrots) Here you are. You may plant vegetables yourself and not to visit other people’s field. Hare. Thank you very much. I’ll think about your advice. (goes away) Fairy. Sometimes it’s so boring in our forest that I want to sleep. No, someone is coming. I hear! Bear. Hello, fairy! Help me! Fairy. What’s happened? Bear. Bees attacked me! They are flying after me and want to sting! (bees’ buzz) Fairy. It seems to me I know the reason! You dared to take some honey! Bear. Very little, I bet! But those angry creatures decided to kill me! Fairy. Don’t be scared. Play this pipe a beautiful tune and bees won’t sting you. Bear blows into the pipe and makes a beautiful tune. Bees’ buzz disappears. Bear. I think bees flew away. Thank you fairy! Fairy. Wait a moment! Don’t you want to give me back the pipe? Bear. The pipe? Fairy. It is! What do you want? Bear. The pipe in your paws! (comes to the bear and takes the pipe away, an angry bear leaves the stage) Fairy. He is very strange, isn’t he? I have been living in the forest for ages. All animals ask the same! Everybody of them think only about themselves! Again! I can hear somebody’s steps. (a girl comes) Girl. It is so difficult to decide. How can I make a choice? Giving presents is not an easy thing! Fairy. What presents are you talking about? Are you invited to the birthday party? Girl. No! (laughs) My mum works a lot and I would like to give a present for her. But it is not easy for me to decide what to present. Fairy. It’s so strange! Go home, it is very dangerous in the forest. Maybe a brilliant idea will come to your head. (a girl walks and sees flowers) Girl. Can I pick these flowers up? Fairy. Take if you want. There are a lot of flowers in the forest, especially near my house. Nobody is forbidden to pick them up. Girl.  My mum likes flowers very much. She will be happy! I know exactly! (goes away) Fairy. She didn’t ask me to do anything. A very strange girl! Compere. Indeed, fairies cannot give us care and love to our relatives. Only our hearts and souls are able to give each other tenderness and love. Let’s look at the presents which our participants have made. (Jury announce scores and the winners, each participant is awarded with medals: the medal of the nicest person; the medal of the cleverest person; the medal of the best actor; the medal of the kindest person; the medal of the most amazing person; the medal of the funniest person; the medal of the most curious person; the medal of the most friendly  person )  Compere.
